  11. Maybe you remember "DrawMap" or "PlotMap", two Amiga programs that
  12. could generate maps of any part of the world.  Massive has the same
  13. purpose as these old-timers, but it's better:
  14.  
  15.  -- It knows all 1998's international borders (unique for the AMIGA!)
  16.  
  17.  -- It can flood fill land masses automagically (unique for the AMIGA!)
  18.  
  19.  -- Zoom in on the Maldives and you'll know what precision is
  20.  
  21.  -- No problem to have the 180° meridian in the middle of a map
  22.  
  23.  -- Works with every possible screen mode from 320x200 to 1280x1024

  25.  -- Reasonably fast

  28. System Requirements
  29. -------------------

  31. Amiga with Kick 2.1 or better, at least 2 Meg RAM, maybe 3.  I'm
  32. not 100% sure about that and will be glad if someone tells me if
  33. it works on a 2 MB-Amiga.
  34. If you do not have at least a 68030 processor:  Better not use the
  35. "fill land" option unless you have loads of time.

  38. Beta!

  41. This is a beta release that was completed in June.  I simply did not
  42. have the time to improve Massive since then, and I don't want it to
  43. be used by only five people in the world, so here it comes!
  44. It may well contain bugs, and some features are not implemented yet,
  45. but after all:  It _does_ work.
  46. Rivers are not included yet, only some reservoirs that they are
  47. passing through.

  50. Installation
  51. ------------

  53. No fancy installation at the moment:  Unpack the lha archive, and
  54. Massive is ready, anyway.

  57. Usage from a Shell
  58. ------------------

  60. In case that you want to start Massive from a Shell:
  61. First "cd" to Massive's directory, then type "stack 10000" and
  62. hit return.  THIS IS IMPORTANT!  Otherwise you'll get errors like
  63. "Modula-2 Laufzeitfehler / Stapel Überlauf" (= stack overflow).
